Holly Springs

Holly Springs is fondly called the “fastest growing town in North Carolina.” And it’s easy to see why – in 1990, the town boasted a population of just under 1,000. Today, however, approximately 14,000 people call Holly Springs home, many of whom are families with children. And the town is expected to reach a population of 25,000 by the year 2010.

With its friendly hometown atmosphere, an emphasis of local government has been placed on family and keeping the small-town feel of Holly Springs alive. Education, public safety, and quality of life are top goals; of particular significance under the quality-of-life umbrella is the current Bass Lake Park project, which when finished will include boating activities, greenways and walking trails, bike paths, and more.

Located just off Highway 55 between Apex and Fuquay-Varina , Holly Springs is poised nicely for its expected dramatic growth. Though the tax base is currently 90% residential, another of the town’s primary goals is to create more of a commercial tax base, with business and industry soon shouldering 25% of the load.
