Raleigh

Known at “The City of Oaks” and situated in the center of North Carolina, Raleigh is known as one of the cornerstones of the Triangle, together with Durham and Chapel Hill. The Triangle as a whole is abundant with education (eight major colleges are located here), superior healthcare facilities, cultural activities that rival those of any big metropolis, a moderate climate, and plenty – yes, plenty – to give residents a chance to see, play and do.

Raleigh itself is a growing metropolis of about 320,000. You’ll find all walks of life here, with a significant “scene” for each. If you’re single, Raleigh’s nightlife has recently been noted in national magazines as being decidedly urban and cosmopolitan. Got a family? There’s no end to quality kids’ activities, from festivals and performances to interactive museums and even a park with a stunning turn-of-the-century carousel and kid-size train. Raleigh is a panacea for the sports enthusiast with an abundance of choices for both the participant and spectator. Golf, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, etc. are available at all levels including amateur, professional, organized and unorganized, school, college, semi pro, professional, etc.  National magazines have awarded Raleigh numerous accolades, such as “#2 City in the U.S.,” “#2 Best Place in America to Live and Work,” “ #4 Best City for Singles,” and “#8 Best Labor Market in the U.S.”

Culture in Raleigh, from the world-class Carolina Ballet to the NC Symphony to the museums filled with renowned exhibits that often travel the globe, is everywhere. Raleigh is often referred to as the “Smithsonian of the South.” Today Raleigh is model for the successful renaissance of a quiet and charming Southern city. It is blessed with a wonderfully moderate climate, an ideal location, a vibrant economy and all the advantages needed to lure both the young and old to its idyllic setting
